Teacher Evaluation Training

This two-day academy is for educators who are seeking initial training qualification to be legally qualified to conduct evaluations of licensed personnel. The training aligns to the Illinois School Code competencies defined by Administrative Code Part 50, Section 50.420 (a-b). This course replaces the initial teacher evaluation course, which was provided online through Growth Through Learning CEC & TeachScape. This is not a teacher evaluation “retraining” course.

**Membership in Chicago Principals & Administrators Association (CPAA) is NOT required to sign up for IAA sessions.

This two-day academy is for educators who are seeking initial training qualification to be legally qualified to conduct evaluations of licensed personnel. A deep understanding of Danielson's 2013 Framework for Teaching is essential for success in the course. This two-day course begins with an extensive pre-work assignment, includes work between the first and the second day and end with a rigorous online assessment. Participants will need access to a laptop or computer on both days.

Attendance in both days is mandatory. The pre-work assignment will be sent electronically 7 to 10 days before prior to the academy. Participants are required to have a GMAIL account. (Please provide a google email address when completing the online registration process).The pre-work must be completed before the first session begins. If the pre-work is not complete before the first session, you will not be allowed to attend. On the afternoon of the second day, participants will complete a rigorous online assessment, which includes a written portion. Participants MUST pass the assessment to become a qualified evaluator. 

Those who are unsuccessful on the assessment will need to repeat the entire two-day course.

This two-day academy is designed for individuals who are seeking initial training qualification for teacher evaluation. This academy aligns to the competencies for Part 50, Section 50.420 (a-b). This is the INITIAL Evaluation Training - not a re-training. 

The academy includes a pre-work assignment that must be completed prior to the academy.  On the afternoon of the second day, participants will complete an online assessment. Participants MUST attend both days for credit.
