APRIL 16, 2020 — In light of recent school closures to prevent exposure to the COVID-19 virus and guidelines set forth by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) regarding group gatherings, the Illinois State Board of Education encourages all who deliver professional development to consider alternative delivery formats while Illinois is under the governor-issued state of emergency. This applies to all Administrator Academy courses, including those initially approved by the state as in-person courses.
Currently, our course facilitators are looking at the unique needs of their class to determine whether they can convert the curriculum to an online format, in alignment with the guidelines set by the state. As online course options are confirmed, we will post them to our website. If a facilitator has concerns that an online delivery would shortchange the integrity and standards of the existing course content, we will not offer that course during this shut down.
